Pots and Pans Recording Studio

Welcome to Pots and Pans Recording Studio, Melbourne.

The studio is owned and operated by Joe Hammond. Joe has a recording of himself at age two singing The Pretenders' Brass in Pocket with his mum on backing vocals. He began learning drums at age ten and was a frontrunner of the heady ‘school fete’ scene of the early nineties.

Since then Joe has played drums - touring and/or recording - for Deloris, Love Outside Andromeda, The Red Sun Band, Brer Mouse, Slipper, Paper Crane, The Futurists, Near Myth and some really obscure bands you would never have heard of. He has also played live on stage with The Boat People, Liam Finn, Seagull and Single Twin.

His audio engineering skills were honed at RMIT. He has worked as a drum teacher, live sound engineer and drum tech.

For you, Joe can:

- Record and mix your band

- Record your songs and play the drums on them
- Help you finish your home-recorded projects
- Track your drums so you can take the files home to do the overdubs
- Make you a coffee.

Pots and Pans is located in Hawthorn, only six kilometers east of Melbourne CBD. It is a fully equipped recording studio with a large tracking/mixing integrated space, a smaller isolation booth and an amazingly reverberant stairwell.

The studio is a stone’s throw from public transport and good eateries. It shares the same building as EASTERN BLOC studios (run by Lee Cardan). Much of Eastern Bloc’s fine equipment may also be available for use in Pots and Pans recording studio, but is subject to availability. Eastern Bloc’s large tracking rooms are also available for hire to accommodate larger projects.
